Sofie Scott Appointed as Ambassador for Dorset Community Foundation!
Following my nomination at the Dorset Venus Awards last month, I have some more exciting news to share with you! I have recently had the honour to be recognised as an Ambassador of the Dorset Community Foundation, a charity which has been working tirelessly for the past 16 years to encourage local giving by local people and organisations across the County. Those already on the list of Ambassadors include former Dorset High Sheriffs, Deputy Lieutenants and renowned business people from across the area.
It goes without saying, that I’m delighted to have been appointed to this special role, and to be working together with such prominent members of the Dorset community! I believe that the Foundation plays a crucial role in improving the quality of life amongst communities in the county. Not only does it provide grants to organisations, but it also connects these organisations with local people seeking influence and encourages others to do something for their community. With so many amazing charities working across Dorset, it is very important that potential donors and volunteers find out about and get involved with groups that can really make a difference.
But in the end, it is through its Ambassadors that the Foundation can have the publicity and recognition it deserves! Known as the primary charity for funding and grant-making to causes in the local area, the DCF relies on the help of its family of Ambassadors and Trustees, as well as the goodwill of Dorset residents to spread the word about its essential services. My colleagues and I, therefore, see it as our duty to use our own networks to communicate the mission and work of the Dorset Community Foundation, and to encourage a culture of giving across our region.
I look forward to getting stuck in as the newest representative of the DCF, with the same pride and determination which I work with at ASH Elite!
